Coloring isn't just quiet entertainment — it's one of the simplest, most research-backed ways to regulate the nervous system. For kids and the adults who color beside them.
The repetitive, low-stakes motion of filling in a page activates the parasympathetic nervous system — the "rest and digest" mode. Heart rate slows. Jaw unclenches. Screen-fatigue fades. Studies at Drexel, the Mayo Clinic, and the American Art Therapy Association have all documented real drops in cortisol and measurable shifts in mood from 20 minutes of focused coloring.
Every doodloo book is designed with this in mind: rhythmic pacing, generous white space, and line work that's satisfying to fill without being stressful to finish. It's why our tagline isn't just about play — it's Doodle. Discover. Repeat. And why so many of our readers are parents coloring right alongside their kids.
Each book is a 96-page adventure with its own characters, palette, and story. Four are live on Amazon right now. New worlds drop regularly — sign up and you'll hear first.

doodloo started with a simple frustration: why do most kids' coloring books sit half-colored in a drawer? The answer, we decided, is that most aren't designed to be finished. They're picture dumps.
So we built something different. Every doodloo book is a story world — a named pair of characters, a clear adventure, and 96 pages that pace like a film: action, detail, quiet, reveal. The art is hand-drawn by a tiny team who obsess over line quality and how a crayon feels against a page. We print on paper thick enough to hide a mistake, and we never, ever use AI-generated art on the page you color.
We're a small studio. We ship slowly, on purpose. Twelve worlds are in the works. Four are out. The rest are coming when they're right.
Why this simple before-bed habit regulates the nervous system better than most "kids' calm-down" hacks — for the kids and the adults.
The first coloring book my daughter has ever finished. She talks about Tilly and Rex like they live in our house now.
I bought Dino Valley for my niece and ended up coloring half of it myself. Paper is heavenly. Art is genuinely charming. Instant gift-buy for the next four birthdays on my list.
I use these books with my own kids as part of our bedtime wind-down. Ten minutes of quiet coloring and the whole house exhales. Honestly better than the calming apps.

Our books are designed for ages 4 to 8 as a core audience — bold lines and generous spaces for little hands. But we say "ages 4 to 96" on purpose: the detailed pattern pages and character work are equally loved by teens and adults coloring for stress relief.
All four available books are on Amazon as paperback. We publish direct, so ordering supports us properly. Barnes & Noble and TikTok Shop listings are coming this year. For wholesale or bulk orders, email us.
Every doodloo book is 96 pages (including the story intro and back-matter). The current editions are paperback, square-format, 8.5″ × 8.4″ — perfect for a lap or a little table. Spiral-bound editions are on our roadmap.
Heavy bright-white stock, specifically chosen to resist bleed from markers and feel smooth under crayons. You can press hard. You can erase. It's designed to take a beating from an enthusiastic five-year-old.
Real. The calming effect of repetitive, low-stakes coloring is well-documented in research from Drexel, the Mayo Clinic, and the American Art Therapy Association. It activates the parasympathetic nervous system and lowers cortisol. It's why adult coloring books became a publishing phenomenon in the 2010s — and why we design every page with that rhythm in mind. We wrote about it here.
We release a new world roughly every 2–3 months. Up next: Tiny Town Helpers and Robot Builders' Workshop. Sign up for the newsletter and you'll be the first to know (and often get a sample page first).
Never. Every line on every page is hand-drawn by our tiny team. We use AI for things like boring admin, never for the art kids color. Every book is signed off by a real illustrator before it prints.
